"TO IMPROVE THE LIVES AND WELL BEING OF AMPUTEE CHILDREN STRIVING FOR MENTAL CONFIDENCE & NORMALCY"
At The Get Up Stand Up Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering amputee youth to become well rounded individuals with inclusive activities like camping experiences, innovative evolution, arts and entertainment and many other social involvements to help bring normalcy to their everyday lives of living with limb loss!
During therapy sessions at OPTIMUS PROSTHETICS in Columbus, Ohio, it was determined that the cost for his new prosthetic limb would be $59 thousand dollars, of which he would be $9 thousand shy! He decided to have a reggae benefit concert with all the local reggae bands to help raise money for this cause! The remaining funds would be donated to The Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp, a non profit organization sponsored by The Amputee Coalition of America.
This idea was determined all because of a single photo on the walls of the examination room that were strategically placed there for motivational reasons and mental support for those having to adjust their new lives with limb loss!
A single photo of little girl playing soccer with one prosthetic leg, still smiling and having the time of her life just as normal as could be! That became the engine that started our idea! With music always the center of Gaboo's life, he toned the statement with determination within his strong St. Lucian accent..."get up...stand up...and dance!" And so we shall!!!
We will always implement the sound of music that creates a tone of unity at every event held for The Get Up Stand Up Foundation. We built the organization on creativity to help bring normalcy to the lives of amputee kids so that they can attend The Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp and enjoy camp experiences and other daily activities for young amputee children living with limb loss.
It is our goal to bring awareness and provide support for our amputee community and continue to aid in the creativity and innovation of youth living with limb loss.
Your contributions help us uplift communities and provide essential resources to those in need. Join us in making a difference today. Every donation counts and creates lasting impact. Thank you for your support!
